Researcher Wants to Send Robots To Day Care

A psychologist from UC Berkeley, Alison Gopnik suggests that robots should be allowed to  learn like babies and toddlers in supervised “daycares.” Her suggestion is a challenge to the traditional way we train a robot. She suggests that we just need a little, helpless, fragile robot that can’t break things and can be supervised by someone else. Then gradually giving him a sense of curiosity to adapt to the new challenges. Researcher feels that by training a robot in a daycare we might be able to figure out how machine and children learn new things
