The Congo River Is deep And Long

Melanie Stiassny, an ichthyologist at the American Museum of Natural History recently discovered the deepest river waters yet found on Earth but also the most diverse fish populations on the earth. She observed that some of these rapids form , the largest stretch of white water on our planet. She measured a depth of 160 meters. Whereas in some places, it was considerably more than 210 meters. She also found the patterns of strong ascending and descending currents. She believes all these discoveries make Lower Congo a great natural laboratory for studying the natural ecosystem.
