They observed through a high-resolution structural model that the protein complex provides the electrical connection to convert sunlight into chemical energy. This energy is helping plants to convert carbon dioxide into carbohydrates and biomass to balance the food chain. Besides, this protein complex also aware plants from harsh weather conditions. Researchers are now hoping this study will be helpful to redesign the mechanism of photosynthesis to meet urgent food security needs.
