New Migraine Drug Just Passed A Promising Large-Scale Trial

A new type of migraine medication has been found effective to prevent severe migraine. The drug is called ubrogepant and has not yet been approved by authorities. But  large scale trials show that it can be considered safe and effective. In the new trial, ubrogepant was tested with two doses: 25 mg and 50 mg. The lower dose had 20.7% of participants feeling pain-free after two hours and 34.1% relieved of the most bothersome symptoms. The higher dose had 21.8% and 38.9% respectively. The study clearly shows the drug is effective. However, further research is required to analyze the long-term safety of these drugs
