MeerKAT Telescope Spies Stellar Flare

Scientists using the MeerKAT radio telescope have discovered an object which rapidly appears and disappears every three weeks. This event will help the scientists to understand the life-span of stars. By observing through several telescopes researchers have predicted the binary system as the source of flash in the object. The origin of the event is found to be in the Southern constellation of Ara and coinciding with a giant star about two times as massive as the Sun. Scientists observed the orbital period using optical observations with the Southern African Large Telescope (SALT).
