The major drawback of solar power is that it entirely depends on the sunlight and favorable weather conditions. However, researchers from the Institute for Research in Electronics and Applied Physics (IREAP) have developed a special kind of photovoltaic cell that could generate power even without sunlight. The working mechanism of these “anti-solar” cells  is similar to regular solar cells but in a reverse manner. This technology seems promising and could overcome one of the biggest drawbacks of solar power by making it more proficient.
