A new species of a bird-like dinosaur that survived 99 million years ago has been recovered from a fossilized skull in amber. Even smaller than a hummingbird, it is considered as one of the smallest and most ancient birds ever found. The Tiny animal named Oculudentavis khaungraae, was discovered in a mine in northern Myanmar. It was measured 1/2 inch in length and its skull is ruled by a large eye socket similar to a modern lizard’s eye. Besides, the upper and lower jaws of the bird-like dinosaur contain a large number of sharp teeth. Researchers believe the discovery of this bird-like dinosaur shows us that we have only a small glimpse of what tiny vertebrates looked like in the age of the dinosaurs.
