Archaeologists have recently uncovered a striking shield, along with a chariot and two ponies buried inside a 2,200-year-old grave. The grave also contained the remains of a man who was in his 40s when he died. The tradition of burying aristocrats with chariots was quite popular during the time of the Roman Empire, which continued from about 2,100 to 1,500 years ago. The newly discovered grave and the chariot were unearthed by the archaeological team when they were digging an area for construction.
