Now, scientists across the world are racing around to find which animal transmitted the virus to the human population. The outcomes of their research suggests that pangolins may have served as the hosts that transmitted the coronavirus to humans and caused the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. However, pangolins are now our top suspect of the scientists as the intermediate host, but they will also look for the other potential intermediate hosts.
