SpaceX Crew Dragon to feature the best bathroom in space

SpaceX will be using a new version of its Crew Dragon capsule for the first-ever commercial space flight, which is slated for September. And, it is claimed that the view from its bathroom will be like no other. The three-day mission crew will include Jared Isaacman, Hayley Arceneaux, Sian Proctor, and Christopher Sembroski.

The capsule will feature a glass cupola that will allow the passengers to enjoy mesmerizing views of the Earth and beyond. Jared Isaacman told Insider that the same area will also have the toilet of the capsule. “When people do inevitably have to use the bathroom, they’re going to have one hell of a view,” said Isaacman.

Incredible views from the toilet

This could also mean that passengers might spend more than usual time in the bathroom, thanks to the stunning view of the cosmos. While the glass cupola is the most exciting part of the capsule, there are four smaller windows that will offer incredible views.

Isaacman also said that the Crew Dragon is pretty small, and the bathroom doesn’t offer a lot of privacy, but it has a privacy curtain that will separate a person from other crew members. This bathroom will surely give the one on the International Space Station (ISS) a run for its money.

Mission for awareness

More details about the Crew Dragon’s toilet are yet to be divulged, but it’s very likely that it will be heavily packed because the capsule will be orbiting our planet in microgravity conditions. The Crew Dragon is already carrying supply missions to the ISS, but that version doesn’t feature a glass dome, as that’s the place where the docking mechanism is placed.

With the new Inspiration4 mission, engineers thought of adding the glass dome to make the trip unforgettable. Isaacman arranged the Inspiration4 mission with SpaceX with an aim to raise funds and awareness for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

Isaacman himself will donate $100 million to the hospital. He will be accompanied by Hayley Arceneaux, who will be the first bone cancer survivor to go to space.
