Out of118 official elements in the periodic table. 19 elements are named after people and out of them, only two are women. Curium is named after Marie Curie, and Meitnerium is named after Lise Meitner.  Both were great physicists and shared the same birth date i.e November 7. Curie and Meitner grew up in Europe at the end of the 19th century when it was not easy to become a women physicist and later earned a permanent place in the periodic table. Despite having such role models, women’s participation in physics is significantly lower as compared to other sciences.
