A recent study reveals that one-third of the tropical flora in Ethiopia, Tanzania, the southern Democratic Republic of Congo and West Africa is on the verge of extinction. IUCN’s Red List is the most authoritative list of the global conservation status of plants and animals. Even this list is full of gaps specially on plants. To overcome this a research team from France carried out an analysis and revealed that 32% of species are potentially endangered. Researchers are now hoping support from the international community to estimate the details of all plant species in Africa
