An team of researchers has revealed that the current temperature of the world’s ocean is 0.075 degrees celsius higher than the average temperature during the period between1982-2010. The number doesn’t look that big, but if we take into account the vastness of the oceans, the amount of heat needed to achieve this temperature increase is humongous. As an analogy the scientist suggested it was like exploding 5 atomic bombs the size of the Hiroshima bomb for the last 25 years.Scary considering the Hiroshima atom-bomb released a massive 63,000,000,000,000 Joules of energy. The continuous increase in the temperature is melting the ice caps and increasing the sea level. The hurricanes and typhoons are becoming more aggressive in the coastal areas. Researchers have warned if we don’t take any appropriate measures to slow the warming, the situation will get more critical.
