New pumpkin toadlet species found in Brazil-reveals researchers. Researchers from the Universidade Federal do Mato Grosso Sul and Projecto Dancis and more discovered the new pumpkin toadlet species in Brazil. They published their paper on the open-access site called, “PLOS ONE”. Their paper talks extensively about the properties of pumpkin toadlet and how it is different.

New Pumpkin toadlet species- What are they?
The new species of toad or frog-family are bright orange. The size of the new species found is extremely small, probably comparable with a thumbnail, and is also poisonous. These pumpkin toadlets are found mostly in dense forests of Brazil, which is south of the Mantiqueria mountains. Though researchers reveal that there are many species, but the pumpkin toadlets are particularly poisonous. This team of researchers collected various samples from 2017 to 2019 and using the fluorescent light, they could find things. The team gathered nearly 276 specimens to study them extensively. The team conducted various DNA tests and found that there were new species in these samples. And these particular species were named “Brachycephalus Rotenbergae”
Brachycephalus rotenbergae
Though the study has revealed that the new pumpkin toadlet species is a poisonous one, the B. rotenbergae is a highly poisonous one. There were many reported differences in nature and variety of species and particularly for the Brachycephalus rotenbergae. It was found that there were dark spots on the species’ heads and they were smaller than the other ones. Now, the difference between the DNA of these species was nearly 3%. The scientists find that a difference of 3% is enough to put classify a particular type as a new species. Now, these pumpkin toadlets also possess a special character. And this is the fluorescence in the bones. This team of scientists further interested in gaining in-depth knowledge about the fluorescent bone character.
