A team of scientists has developed an AI model that can predict the various theoretically stable orbital configurations of the planets in a system! The newly developed AI model called Stability of Planetary Orbital Configurations Klassifier or SPOCK can predict the stability of the orbits in a planetary system. In short, it can decide if planets will continue to orbit their stars along the orbit or if the planets will conflict with each other. With the help of the AI model, researchers are now hoping to better understand how planets establish themselves around stars and how many ways the planets can adjust themselves to be in stable orbits for billions of years.
