NASA’s New Mars Rover Is Going With The Objective Of Finding Fossils

NASA is sending its Mars Rover 2020 with the mission to explore the existence of microbial life on Mars i.e to discover fossils. This is considered a much bigger mission than discovering water or assess the habitability on Mars. For this the Rover will land at the Jezero Crater. The crater is an area of vast geological diversity including an alluvial fan of sediments. A clearly visible imagery from the satellite shows that the  sediments might contain organic molecules from the ancient past. Scientist also hope to find fossils in the faintly visible bathtub ring which is a collection of carbonates.
