Gene Involved In The Development Of Our Faces

Researchers have recently uncovered the gene that regulates the evolution of the human face. Strangely the same gene is involved in the domestication of dogs. A fair indication that humans have been domesticated. Domestic animals are more sociable as compared to their wild cousins such as wolves, fox, etc. Similarly, human faces look more sensitive as compared to other hominin species. Researchers studied a gene called BAZ1B, which is involved in controlling the neural crest that is responsible for the domestication of our body parts and also found its significant involvement in the development of the brain.
