Elon Musk not impressed with Jeff Bezos funding anti-aging tech

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is reportedly backing a Silicon Valley tech startup that is working on mysterious anti-aging research. The research is said to have garnered huge funding from billionaires. However, fellow billionaire Elon Musk doesn’t seem impressed by Bezos’ move.

The firm known as Altos Labs is looking for ways to reverse the aging of human cells. That type of work has already shown promise but is still at a nascent stage. Musk took a dig at Bezos by putting out a sarcastic tweet. “And if it doesn’t work, he’s gonna sue death!” Musk wrote in a tweet on Tuesday.

Elon Musk vs Jeff Bezos

The rift between the two has been brewing for months now, but this might be the first instance where Musk has ridiculed Bezos for actions that aren’t related to space exploration. The most recent clash was when Bezos sued NASA over its handling of the Human Landing Systems (HLS) contract, which was awarded to SpaceX.

Both space firms were competing to win funding from NASA to develop a lunar lander that can ferry US astronauts to the Moon. But SpaceX won the contract, leaving Bezos’ disappointed. Blue Origin later decided to sue the premier space agency, eventually leading to a halt of the program. Musk also responded to the move.

Beef getting fiercer

“Turns out Besos [sic] retired in order to pursue a full-time job filing lawsuits against SpaceX,” Musk tweeted, referring to Amazon filing a lawsuit to cause hiccups in SpaceX’s plans to expand its Starlink constellation. It now appears that Musk and Bezos’ beef has gone beyond space exploration topic. Musk is going all cylinders blazing and isn’t afraid of taking shots at his rival.

Jeff Bezos even tried offering NASA billions if the space agency lets his company Blue Origin take part in the Artemis moon missions. In an open letter to NASA chief Bill Nelson on July 26, Bezos offered budgetary assistance of around $2 billion if NASA lets his firm develop a moon lander for a mission that is slated for 2024.
