Black Holes Are Not Supposed To Echo, But This One Might

A pair of astrophysicists think they’ve detected a type of echo that formed around newly formed black holes when the two neutron stars collide. They claim that a black hole that formed after the collision of the neutron stars is ringing like an echoing bell . This is in contradiction to Albert Einstein’s theory of general relativity which says black holes are simple objects surrounded by smooth event horizons through which no light, energy or matter can escape. Astrophysicists are considering the findings overwhelming because the echoes turned up in more than one gravitational wave detector.
