Scientists claim that a previously found exoplanet, TOI-849b that revolves around its star TOI-849 could be the leftover core of a gas giant.David Armstrong from the University of Warwick in England suggests that the exoplanet TOI-849b may be the surviving core of a giant planet or a giant planet in the making whose growth hampered. In 2018, NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) first discovered the exoplanet TOI-849b. The exoplanet revolves around the sun-like star TOI-849, which is about 730 light-years from Earth. The interior structure of gas giants like Jupiter and Saturn remain poorly documented. Scientists believe these findings will certainly shed light on what the mysterious cores of giant planets look like.
