Astronomers Detect Never Seen Gravitational Wave Source From Binary White Dwarf Stars

Researchers from the Center for Astrophysics (CfA) at Harvard have identified two stellar corpses whirling around each other and might be producing gravitational waves.Researchers observed that the system, known as J2322+0509, has a small orbital period of 1,201 seconds and might be the first gravitational wave source ever found. Researchers are not considering this as a discovery of gravitational waves, rather it is the discovery of the binary white dwarf stars which may be a source for gravitational waves. Researchers believe this study improves our understanding of these systems and gravitational wave sources and will also be important in validating the efficiency of an instrument that will launch in 2034.
