Assembler robots can make large structures from small pieces

Imagine small robots using very small pieces of material to create and maintain anything structure. These systems of tiny robots may one day build structures like an airplane, bridges and large buildings. The key difference with these robots is that unlike the earlier ones we cannot separate the robot from the structure. Its like making a really complex thing with something very small, imagine a very complex picture made of small elementary pixels. Jenett the PhD student who is doing it all has dubbed the little robots BILL-E (Bipedal Isotropic Lattice Locomoting Explorer)
