The researchers also revealed that proteins and music share a hierarchical structure. They developed a deep learning algorithm on data sets that involved a host of proteins and their linked musical scores which was able to create brand new musical compositions.Researchers believe the relationship between protein structure and musical notation is very clear and has the potential to recognize new proteins for a range of biotechnological applications.
