Israeli Scientists Demonstrate How Electrons ‘Flow’ Like Water

For the first time, researchers from the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel have imaged electrons flowing viscously through a nanodevice, just like water flowing through a pipe.  Electrons usually move through conductors more like a gas than liquid. That is, they do not collide with one another, but rather, they tend to bounce off impurities and imperfections in the material. Long predicted but only now envisioned for the first time, this unique new behavior for electrons has important implications for future electronic devices.
