Researchers have been baffled by two mysterious signals from Antarctica since march 2016. Physicists named the two discoveries the “ANITA anomaly,” after NASA’s Antarctic Impulsive Transient Antenna (ANITA), the airborne detector that picked up the signals. The two detections have been termed “ANITA anomaly,” by the researchers, and was picked up by NASA’s Antarctic Impulsive Transient Antenna (ANITA) airborne detector. Now, a team of researchers has claimed that the ANITA anomaly likely isn’t an indication for new physics and consider it a trick of the ice. ANITA has detected a handful of events like that, as well as signals from cosmic rays coming straight down at Antarctica from dark space.
