The Martian Moon Exploration (MMX) mission is set to launch a spacecraft to the moon in 2024 and will spend three years surveying both of Mars’ moons, Phobos and Deimos. Scientists are hoping that the mission will help them to study the composition of the planet’s two moons and the evolution of Mars. The news comes after JAXA succeeded to land Hayabusa2 spacecraft on a tiny distant asteroid called Ryugu last year to collect ground samples.
