The increasing demand for solar energy for generating renewable energy has raised a question on the disposal of photovoltaic modules after their obsolescence. The tons of e-waste will continue to increase as the industry grows. However, the major challenge to recycling the PV module is the difficulty in recovering the cost from recycled material. The problem is that recyclers are not able to deliver high-quality glass from PV-waste due to contamination of glass material which comprises the majority of the module. Researchers focused that innovation in the processing of glass materials recycling technologies may help to get rid of this situation.
