Researchers Developed A Promising Pathway To Carbon-Neutral Plastics

Researchers have designed an effective method to convert CO2, water, and renewable energy into ethylene a pre cursor to plastics, under neutral conditions.  The device has laid the foundation of carbon-neutral products by increasing use of waste carbon and renewable energy. Ethylene formed under neutral conditions can play a crucial role in displacing fossil fuels that are the major constituent for this chemical. Scientists have made modifications in the catalyst to improve the performance and lower its operating cost. Although, this method will take some time for implementation, this innovative concept gives a hope to address several key challenges in sustainability
